LONDON Authentic Mark Walton Jersey , Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Planes using fuels made from trash sent to landfill dump sites could take off from British airports under a new government scheme announced Sunday.
As part of plans to promote clean alternative fuels, the British government is offering funding for projects in Britain to develop low carbon waste-based fuels for planes and freight trucks, with matching funding from industry.
"The government is already planning to revolutionise the motor industry with ultra-low emission electric cars, and now we are going further and investing in a new generation of fuels which will power our aircraft and lorries," said a spokesperson for the Department for Transport (DfT).

The DfT says it has already had interest from more than 70 groups in bidding for the funding.

The "future fuels for flight and freight" competition is part of the British government's "Modern industrial strategy", which sets out to support evolving industries with the potential to boost the economy.

JUBA, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- South Sudan's humanitarian communityon Friday renewed calls for respect and protection of aid workerson the frontline following the killing of at least 82 humanitariansin the ongoing more than three years of conflict.
The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) head DavidShearer said the country is one of the most dangerous andchallenging places for aid workers Tyler Kroft Jersey , and urged leaders to respectand protect lives of aid workers as he paid tribute to those killedin the violence.
